You Don't Have to Keep Feeling Stuck.
I help individuals and couples break painful patterns, rebuild emotional safety, and heal from trauma — all from the comfort of home.
Hi, I'm Dr. Zena Vevaina, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 10 years of experience helping people create real, lasting change. I offer fully virtual therapy throughout California, Oregon, and Connecticut.
You've Tried to Fix It. So Why Does Nothing Change?
Maybe you and your partner have the same argument on repeat. Maybe you shut down when things get intense — or push harder, hoping this time they'll finally understand. Maybe you're doing the inner work on your own but still feel stuck in patterns you can't seem to shake.
You're not broken. But something in the way you relate — to yourself, to others, to conflict — is keeping you from the connection and peace you're looking for.
That's where I come in.
Who I Work With.
Couples in Conflict
You love each other but can't seem to stop hurting each other. I help couples break out of reactive cycles and rebuild the emotional safety that makes real connection possible.
Individuals Feeling Stuck
Whether it's anxiety, emotional shutdown, or patterns you've carried for years, I help individuals understand what's driving their experience — and how to shift it.
Associates Seeking Supervision
I offer active, supportive clinical supervision for BBS associates looking to deepen their skills, build confidence, and grow their clinical voice — including associates on BBS probation.

“I have been with Zena for over a year now and it has been an amazing experience. I have made so much progress within that time, and I am very thankful to Zena for that. She is incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for trauma therapy or therapy in general.”
— D.L“She is the best! Very supportive and helps me understand situations from perspectives that I don’t see myself. I’m so grateful for Zena.”
— Y.W“Zena is fantastic! She is extremely intelligent, reliable, flexible, and a joy to be around. I’d highly recommend working with her if you have the chance.”
— H.M“Dr. Vevaina (Zena to her patients) has been an incredible resource in our relationship. My husband and I use her regularly and we've gone from thorny issues to smooth sailing; we rarely leave a session without resolution. Her ability to confront and challenge us without triggering us has been crucial in resolving difficult fights. She has been especially good at holding space for each party's very different lived experience, yet still managing to find common ground. Even though we feel as though the majority of the issues we came in with have been resolved, we've continued our sessions as they are a strong safety net for our relationship.”
— V.J“I have been a client of Dr. Vevaina’s for many years and the person I am today is much more capable and resilient thanks to the work I have done with her. She has been the only therapist who I feel has been able to actually get to the root of my struggles and help me strengthen my mental foundation. Her impact on my journey toward healing has been invaluable.”
— R.MZena is an exceptional therapist who created a safe, non-judgmental space for me and my partner to express ourselves, and her empathetic ear helped us feel heard and validated.
With Zena, we never felt like we had to explain or justify our Indian cultural backgrounds. She intuitively understood the intricacies of our relationship, from the importance of family expectations to the challenges of navigating different cultural values as Indians living in Bay Area. Thanks to Zena, we've gained a deeper understanding of each other and ourselves. Our communication has improved significantly, and we've developed healthier conflict resolution strategies. I feel grateful to have found them, and I highly recommend her therapy service to anyone seeking a deeper, more fulfilling relationship.
